Introduction
Thin Client is a centralized computer network, users use computers with minimum specifications to run applications, use data and server computer power. Thin Clients are designed for efficiency and full utilization of the computing capabilities of server computers which currently have more than enough power to meet normal computing needs and on the other hand lower the cost of using, maintaining and investing in the device as a whole compared to fat client solutions.
Requirements
The need to perform computations according to the input from the Thin Client side and send the output results in the form of images or displays that will be displayed on the client's monitor. Thus, on the client side there is no need for large computational capabilities considering that all the required applications have already been run by the server.
Results
-
Ease of maintenance with a single administration that is only done via the server. such as application installation/update, user determination, disk quotas, system security and users are free to use any computer, even directly accessible from the Internet, if the server is connected to the Internet.
-
Can use existing computer (DOS/Windows 31/Windows95) with or without hard drive.
